GREEN TARA
# Green Tara is Tara's most dynamic manifestation.
# Green tara is known as swift liberator,and is said to have arisen from the compassionate tears of Avalokiteswara.
# She is specially known for her power to overcome the most difficult situation ,giving protection against danger
and all kinds of fear.
# He is seated on the lotus throne in a lalita posture.
# The slender,long -proportioned body of the goddess is dusky olive green in colour.Her green colour body is that of
the active Enlightenment of Feminine Compassion and indicates that the Tara is always willing and ready to help
the needy that prays her with the rapidity of wind.For this reason she is also called the Prompt.
# She is youthful and beautiful and has powerto inspire energy and enthusiasm in her devotees.
# She is holding the stem of lotus flowers on both of her hands.
# she Symbolises the unity of wisdom and compassion
# She is the form of Nepali Princess Bhrikuti who got married to the Tibetan king Shrong -Tsong Gumpo.
# Her right hand is in the boon granting mudra indicating her ability to provide beings with whatever they desire.
# Her left hand at her heart is in the mudra of bestowing refuse : her thumb and ring finger are pressed together to
symbolise the union of wisdom and energy and the three remaining fingers are raised to symbolise 3 jewels of refuge -
Buddha,dharma,Sangha.This also holds the stem of a blue lotus that floats over her left shoulder as a symbol of purity
and power.
# Her left leg is bent in the pose of ease(lalitasana) represents her serene force even during intense disturbances.
# Her right leg is extending beyond the throne leaning on the lotus i.e. is opened form,that signifies her willingness and readiness
to go help living beings.
# Her mantra is" OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SVAHA" .This can be literally translated into “I prostrate to the Liberator, Mother
of all the Victorious Ones“.
Yet the meaning of the Tara and her Mantra is much deeper.
